This month I was very lucky to have some time, just sit down, focus and stretch new Hello Beautiful stamp set from Crafting Desert Divas April release in four different ways and with four different coloring media.
My second card from these stamp focus posts is a watercolor one. Missed the first one colored with Polychromos pencils? Catch it up right here!
This time I used an emboss resist technique and regular watercolors. In case you’re unfamiliar with emboss resist technique, it’s a very fun and easy method to work with watercolors. I started with a watercolor paper, of course, since it holds water well and put a generous coat of the antistatic powder. Then I stamped the image with a clear sticky ink, sprinkled the fine white embossing powder on top and shook off the excess. I heat set the image and was ready to color. Since the embossed lines raise above the paper, they become an excellent guide in case you want to stay inside the stamp lines and prevent the color from spreading all over. Otherwise, like I did on my card, you can paint inside and outside the heat embossed lines and make them pop from the background revealing the pattern.
That’s all for today! Hope you like this card! Need more inspiration? Please, check Craftin Desert Divas Gallery on Facebook for more amazing projects and inspiration from the Design Team, freebies and awesome giveaways! As always thanks so much for stopping by!
