Of corse, I just had to get my hands on both new products: Newton’s Graduation stamp and Essential Alphabet Die sets. And here’s what I came up with!

Time To Take On The World #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Newton's Graduation stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

I started with Bristol paper from Strathmore brand, first die-cut using the coordinating Newton’s Graduation die set and then stamped the cute kitty with a globe. Once the ink was dried, I made a simple watercoloring with Zig Clean Colour Real Brush markers. I set aside the watercolor piece and started working on the background die-cutting from Essential Alphabet Die set some letters on a masking paper. I placed the letters into the desirable pattern towards the bottom right corner of the card base, masked the card edges and applied Distress Oxide ink in Mermaid Lagoon color with an ink blending tool. I also spritzed a few tiny water droplets on top and lift the masked letters from the background achieving a fun pattern. Assembling the card I popped Newton on a foam tape, heat embossed the sentiment from the same Newton’s Graduation set on fish-tale banner die-cut with Frames & Flags die set and finally added a few matching sequins.

  1. This is awesome! I love the way you used the letters as masks for that fun background! And the coloring of the kitty is incredible too!

  2. Amazing card. I really like how you did the background. Thank you for putting the color of zig markers you used. I struggle with brown and love how you colored the kitty.

  3. Loe the shadow of color around the alphabet.
    Wonderful card.
    thanks for sharing

  4. Love your card. I especially like the letters in the background that add a subtle touch without overpowering our favorite kitty Newton (just don’t let me cats know I said that!) Wonderful card.

  5. I so love this card! That blue pulls me in and the background behind Newton is awesome! Great coloring!

  6. I really like how you used the alpha cutouts as resist stencil to create the background. It’s the perfect way to frame Newton taking over/on the world!
