Hello and welcome to the last day of the Newton’s Nook Designs March Release!

Today all the Design Team is focusing on new Birthday Essentials stamp set that completes the March birthday theme release in the most perfect way! There’re some really great sentiments inside of any dimension and style that you can just grab and add to any birthday card, tag, scrapbook layout page or planner spread. Or as I did on my cards, you can stretch them a little bit more and transform into a fun background.

My first card is a tone on tone shaker project and teal shades make it just perfect for a masculine style.
Of course, I couldn’t escape to mix and match a few products from the new March release and so along with an ombré stamping on the background made from the different sentiments that you can find in Birthday Essentials stamp set, I used here Balloon Shaker Die set. Assembling the balloon shaker, I used a clear acetate on both back and front sides for a see through effect and added dimension with a double sided adhesive foam that NND carries in their shop. I can’t recommend enough this fabulous product: I tested it many times and always got gorgeous results in term of die cutting. And not telling that it’s a great time-saver as well! Adding more interest to the stamped background I die cut and popped on a foam tape a stitched rectangle from Frames & Flags die set and finally finished with a heat embossed sentiment that was placed on a dark gray cardstock instead of a usual black for a more uniform and soft look.
And here’s my alternative to the ombré background from my first card: this time I heat embossed in white some sentiment from Birthday Essentials stamp set on a light lilac cardstock.
Once finished with embossing, I added a fun interactive slider mechanism to the frame since my intention was to put the cute kitty from new Newton’s Birthday Balloons stamp set and make him deliver the purr-fect birthday wishes.
I used the coordinating Newton’s Birthday Balloons die set to die cut the kitty’s shape from Strathmore Bristol paper and then stamped the matching image with a black waterproof ink. Once finished with watercoloring using my Zig Clean Colour Real Brush markers, I started assembling the whole card.
Working on the sentiment, I paired the heat embossed “Make A” stamp from Birthday Essentials set with a word die that comes in Balloon Shaker Die set and added more color to it with the same pink shades I used on the kitty image.
