Newton’s Nook Designs Deck the Halls with Inky Paws Blog Hop!

I’m sooooooo excited joining today the Design Team and the featured guests for the Newton’s Nook Designs Deck the Halls with Inky Paws Blog Hop!!

There couldn’t be any proper date for this hop because today December, 8 in Italy we celebrate Feast of the Immaculate Conception! It’s day off and it’s tradition to deck the halls right on this day!!! So meanwhile you’re reading this post, I’m putting up my christmas tree, lights and nativity scene. It really beginning to look a lot like Christmas!!! LOL!!!

For this hop I created a clean and simple card with a pop of bright colors on a tropical birds dressed up for holiday period! I thought it would be fun to give another “life” and interpretation to the summer stamps and transform them into the holiday ones! And so I started stamping with a black waterproof ink on a hot pressed watercolor paper the cute toucans from NND Toucan Party stamp set along with some winter accessories from Newton’s Holiday Mischief and Santa Paws Newton sets. I colored everything with regular watercolors, fussy cut right up against the stamp lines and colored all the edges with a black marker to hide any imperfection due to the cutting. For the background I used a negative part of the circle die-cut from a masking paper, added Distress Oxide ink in Peacock Feathers color. I let everything dry before applying a textured snowflakes through gorgeous Snowfall stencil  using a white embossing paste. Finally I assembled everything popping up some elements on a foam tape and simply stamping the sentiment and a few beautiful snowflakes with the same black ink I used before.
