Today I have something different to share with you. I made a set of Christmas foiled cards using digital stamps. This is a really fun and easy method for mass producing handmade cards and a beautiful metallic shine looks so gorgeous and elegant!
I had this idea in my mind for a long time and asked CDD if they could add digital snowflakes and some bold handwritten sentiments to their online shop! And here they are in use! You can find these images in Snowflakes and Best Wishes Sentiment digital stamp sets. I spent a little bit of time making a digital layout and arranging the snowflakes on the background while the sentiment was popped up in the rectangle box placed the center. This layout was sized to an extended A2 size card and so I had only to print a bunch already ready for foiling.
If you are unfamiliar with the foiling technique, here is how it works. When you’re working with digital images, you must print them on a laser printer because a toner is what will make stick the foil transfer sheets to you project. Once you have your layout printed, place the foil sheet on top facing up the shiny surface and sandwich everything between two pieces of a regular printer paper creating a sort of a folder. Then you need to make very hot a laminator (Laminators are really inexpensive and can be used in so many ways. I purposely got my one from this technique from Amazon.) and send your sandwich through. Let the paper cool for a second before removing the foil sheet and your plain black images will be magically transformed into beautiful metallic ones! It’s hard to kept in picture all that shine, but in real life these cards looks really fabulous!
