Hello and welcome!
So happy you’ve joined me for another day of the April Release from Craftin Desert Divas! I just couldn’t help myself to play again with the adorable Rainbows & Sunshine stamp set and here’s my release project foe you!
I stretched my Zig markers again since watercoloring seems to match so perfectly this scheme and made a pop-up shaker card!
I started by coloring and fussy cutting right up against the stamp edge the cute little girl dressed in a bunny rain coat. While the image was drying, I prepared the shaker part by die-cutting five times a circle frame out of Inside Scalloped Circle Dies and glued it together. I added a piece of clear acetate before adding the last layer to create a shaker window and also die-cut once the inner part of the circle frame from a watercolor paper and applied some color to it with ink smooching technique and Distress inks in blue tones.
Before adhering the shaker window to my card base, I filled it with matching blue and pink sequins and finished popping out on a foam tape the little girl image along with the sentiment that comes with the same Rainbows & Sunshine stamp set!
And here’re some tips and tricks for you! If you struggle to color with Zig markers, try to use Bristol paper paired with a water brush (I mean the one that can be filled with water). My favorites are Strathmore brand for Bristol paper and a small water brush from Pentel. When working on a shaker part, assure to used the adhesive that becomes non-sticky after drying like Multi Medium Matte from Ranger, for example. Otherwise the sequins inside will stick to the frame! And when you fussy cut something right up against the stamp line, put a black marker on the cut edge and it will hide any imperfection!
That all for today! Hope you like this colorful card! As always thanks so much for stopping by! And you can find my another project featuring this cute stamp set right here!!!
Have a fantastic week-end!!!
