Newton’s Nook Designs February Release and Giveaway – Newton Loves Cake

Hello everyone and welcome!

This is the last day of the Newton’s Nook Designs February Release, but it filled with a lot of cuteness and fun because little mischief Newton came back with a stunning birthday scheme stamp set!

In fact, who doesn’t love cake and cats? And together they make just a purr-fect blend for birthday cards! This new amazing stamp set is called NEWTON LOVES CAKE and it has the coordinating dies as well.

And here’s my card showcasing this SWEET kitty! I mixed and matched a few media on it! The kitty with a birthday cake was stamped with a copic friendly ink and then, of course, just simply colored with copic markers and finally die-cut with the coordinating die.

For the background I started with a watercolor paper and did some ink blending with distress inks from the bottom edge of my panel. Then I added a few spritzes and water droplets from Distress Sprayer bottle and picked up the excess with a paper towel.

To tie all the elements together I used a gold metallic spay. I flicked some droplets on the card base and the ink blended piece and then used it as a paint to add a few gold detail to Newton and the cake. The matching gold heat embossed sentiment on vellum and some matching sequins added a finish touch to the card.
