In case you don’t know Newton is an adorable sweet orange tabby cat and the inspiration for NND’s name and logo. Besides he is also one of my favorites stamps to play with and so I just couldn’t leave you today with only one card.

Although inspired by Saint Patrick’s Day, this set has a few wonderful sentiments and it works great for a friend cards. And here’s my first one! It has a see-through non-bulky shaker window filled with “gold” and sealed with a fusion tool. I like how this idea and gold metallic finish take on a scheme!

newtons-pot-of-gold_tt_ii-2The kitty was stamped with a copic friendly ink and colored with copic markers, of course. While the bottom edge of the front panel was die-cut with a curve stitched die from Land Borders Die set and makes see a pattern created inside the card by repeatedly stamping a shamrock image. The sentiment was added in the center of a blank white circle area created by masking a sport correspond to the shaker window.

newtons-pot-of-gold_tt_1And this is my second card. The same stamp set and totally different look.

newtons-pot-of-gold_tt_3I started with Distress Watercolor Cardstock. Stamped the kitty with a super light ink since my intention was to make a no-line watercoloring and partially die-cut the grass edge on both sides from the stamp image. Then I fussy cut with my scissors around Newton peeking from the pot of gold and proceeded with coloring.

newtons-pot-of-gold_tt_2To assemble everything I popped up on a foam tape the watercolored piece and adhered it to my card base where I previously stamped the sentiment and added a few little extra details. I’m leaving you with a behind the scenes peek of my sweet furry baby Tommy, helping me take photos. He is Sacred Birman cat and a font of inspiration for my coloring.
