Happy Monday!

So excited and happy to start this week with a post featuring Newton’s Nook Designs January Release.

Today I’m showcasing a new Woodland Duos stamp set that coordinates with the existing Darling Hearts Die Set. Be sure to scroll down and find how you can win these cuties!

20170101_woodlandduos_pkgI stretched my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers and created a sort of an interactive flop card. In case you are interested, as always, I’m leaving all the exact colors I used in the end of this post.

woodland-duos_tt_2I started with Bristol paper and cut it to 8¼” by 5½” piece scored in half. Basically I created a standard A2 card base out of a watercolor card stock. Then I partially die-cut a heart shape using a frame heart die that was larger than the cute foxes right on the front panel of the card. I added score marks up and below the partial die-cut heart and got a flop panel. At this point I traced with a pencil a heart shape helping myself with the die and created a wreath using some small stamps from Holiday Tweets and Bunny Hop stamp sets by Newton’s Nook Designs.

woodland-duos_tt_3For a more playful look the right part of the wreath was stamped on the front part of the card base while the other – inside the card so you can see the continuous pattern once flipped the scored panel.

woodland-duos_tt_4I kept the rest of the card very simple since I liked the final result and, by the way, any other embellishment could obstruct the opening.

  5. There is so much I LOVE about your card! The color is just beautiful, and the detail is stunning! The heart cutaway design is perfect for these curled up foxes too. I am really in awe of your amazing skills, WOW!

  6. This is beautiful! Love that you combined stamps from other sets to create a heart wreath to frame those cute critters. Gorgeous coloring!

  7. Wow, ingenious card! It looks deceptively simple, though I know it wasn’t easy to create. I love the idea of partially die cutting the heart and then using the tiny stamps from the other sets to create the wreath both inside and outside of the card. Just beautiful in its elegant simplicity!
