Inspired By Card Series (ft. Jess Crafts Digitals)

Hello guys!

I’m back with another post from this mini card series. In case you missed, you can catch up the previous two here and here.

Today I’d like to give you another idea for watercolor backgrounds. This one is so easy and fast to make. I chose my Mijello Mission Gold watercolors for this project and, inspired by the sea colors I saw on the beach, made an ombré background starting from blue-green and finishing with more deep dark blue tones. I applied the colors using only vertical brush strokes and used a small amount of water as I wished to keep my colors very vibrant.

While the background was drying I colored (with copic markers this time) the cute fishes from Fish Friends digital stamp set designed by a very talented Jess Gerstner. To tie everything together I brought some gold splotches and dots both on the card front and the images. I used a gold shimmer spray, but applied it with a regular brush: painted the gold dots on the fish images in some areas and flicked randomly a few splotches on the card base.

As finish touches I decided to apply goggly eyes and pop up some elements with a foam tape.

That’s all for today! Hope you like today’s card and the Fish Friends stamps! If so I have a coupon code for you. You can save 25% with the code GDTFAN at Jess Crafts Digitals.

As always thanks so much for stopping by! Stay tuned for the last post from this mini series! Have a great day!
