Emboss Resist Watercolored Easter Tag – Spring & Easter Card Series

Easter Tag 6_2015

Happy Friday to all!

On the last tag from my Easter mini Series I used the same stamp set Basket of Wishes from Newton’s Nook Design, but a very different watercolor technique called emboss resist. It consists on stamping and heat embossing your image first and apply the color after. The embossed lines will resist to the color and since they stay above the paper surface, they will make the color stay within the lines.

As always I used my favorite VersaMark ink for the embossing and white embossing powder from Hero Arts. But for this technique any type and color of embossing powder will do, so you can use clear, gold silver ecc. As for the color medium this time I played with my Sakura KOI Watercolors box that contains high pigmented watercolor cakes. It’s very compact and easy to travel with. I’m still learning the best way to use such kind of medium, but for sure once you get any of them, I recommend you to try how the colors look when you apply them to the paper.  So go ahead and create your own swatch sheet that you can keep together with the pallet as a reference guide.

That is all for today! Thanks so much for stopping by!
